Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Loos Coffee collects when you use the Loos Coffee app and website, why, who receives it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We keep it plain on purpose.

Who we are
Loos Coffee, Mogadishu, Somalia. Questions and requests about your data: support@loos.coffee.
What we collect
- Account: your Somali mobile number and the name you choose. Sign-in uses one-time codes, so there is no password.
- Orders: the drinks and options, the store, the time, the total, the pickup code, the queue number and the name for the cup.
- Payments: for EVC Plus, the mobile-money number that pays and the payment reference. Cash orders are paid at the counter. We never see or store card numbers.
- Rewards: your peanuts, friend code and any promo code you use.
- Notifications: if you allow them, a notification subscription for order updates on this device.
- Kept only on your phone: language, selected store, cart and the screen you were on.
- Location: only when you tap Nearest to me, used on your phone to sort stores. It is never sent to us.
- Camera: only when you scan a Loos QR code. Nothing is recorded or stored.
- Security records: your IP address, device type and request times in our server logs, to stop abuse.
- Messages: sign-in codes and order updates by SMS or WhatsApp. Offers only if you switch them on.
Why we use it
To take, prepare and hand over your orders; to confirm EVC Plus payments; to run the Peanuts rewards; to keep you informed about your order; to prevent fraud and abuse; to meet accounting and legal duties; and to understand, in aggregate only, what sells and when.
Who receives it
- Loos staff at the store you chose see the drinks, the name for the cup, the pickup code and the payment method.
- Hosting: Railway runs the app, the API and the database; Netlify hosts the website. They store data on our behalf.
- Messaging: Meta (WhatsApp Business API) and our SMS gateway deliver codes and order updates.
- Payments: Hormuud processes EVC Plus payments on its own network under its own terms.
- Maps: when you open the store map, map tiles load from OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address.
- Statistics: Google Analytics counts anonymous app usage for us — which screens are opened and how often. It never receives your name, phone number or address, and you can switch it off any time in Profile → Preferences.
We do not sell your data. There are no advertising networks and no cross-app tracking in the Loos app.
Where it is stored
Our providers run their servers outside Somalia. Data travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is stored on encrypted disks with access limited to the people who need it. By using the app you accept this transfer.
How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete the account.
- Order records: up to 5 years for accounting and disputes. After you delete the account they no longer carry your name, number or cup name.
- Sign-in codes: 24 hours. Security logs: 30 days. Notification subscriptions: until the order is finished.
Your choices
- Change your name in Profile at any time.
- Switch offers and reminders on or off in Profile, or text STOP to end offers by SMS.
- Delete your account in the app: Profile, then Delete my account. Or ask us at https://loos.coffee/delete-account.
- Ask what we hold about you, or ask for a correction, at support@loos.coffee. We answer within 30 days.
- Switch anonymous usage statistics off (or back on) any time in Profile → Preferences. Ordering works either way.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
HTTPS everywhere, one-time codes instead of passwords, order links protected by private tokens, staff access limited by store and role, and an audit trail of staff actions. If you find a security problem, please write to support@loos.coffee.
Changes
When this policy changes we post the new version here with a new date. Big changes are announced in the app.
